Strawberry Festival

This past weekend was the strawberry festival and we decided to join in. Kian was a bit young for most of the activities but was really happy to see that he isn't the only kid on the planet! He loves to watch the other children. He had a blast seeing the horses giving rides and seeing all the dogs in the park. The best part was eating the strawberries, of course! He ate as much strawberries and ice cream as Mark and I did!

I love strawberries!

Our First Visitors!

The last couple weeks seem to have flown by!

Kian has been sick for about a week now and generously passed it on to me. Hopefully Mark doesn't get sick as well. Kian had a fever which sent us to a walk-in clinic after regular office hours. At least the line up wasn't long and as predicted before we even left the house, everything we were doing was right and there was nothing else we could do. It turns out that he has an ear infection and is now on anti-biotics for the first time.

We met up with some old friends who have also recently moved onto the island (close to Duncan). I hadn't seen Cara for nearly 20 years (god I feel old just saying that!) and we had a chance to meet her family (Simon, Avery and David-Dad). We had a fantastic dinner and had a chance to catch up a little. Now that we are so close I know that we'll be seeing a lot more of each other.

Then we had a really nice visit from Mike and Ania (our first visitors), who are now engaged (welcome to the family). They only stayed the day, but had a great time at the Tall Ship festival and went out for some fantastic sushi before they took the ferry back to Vancouver. Here's wishing them the best of luck in Poland!
