First Haircut!

Big boy hair cut!

Julean got his first haircut last weekend.  About 75% of it went really well and then he was done and wanted out of the chair.  Unfortunately that was right at the time when the ears and the bangs were needing to be straightened. Needless to say his bangs are a little shorter then expected and the ears aren't so even but he is no longer blinking the hair out of his eyes and doesn't look like a girl.

Really brave!
Before.....
After!

After the big cut, because Kian needed to have his cut too (not really but he loves to get his hair cut), we got to go out for a special treat and have a Montreal smoked meat sandwich.  You don't get many of those out here!  I did notice later on that I have a recipe to make my own Montreal smoked meat and think I will have to try that over the holidays!  The boys were so excited because they got to sit on their own stools at the bar and eat their foot-long hot dog.

The last 2 1/2 weeks have been really busy here.  Mark has been out of town touring the province for work and I have been home with the boys.  They have been really good but I haven't been able to get anything done except the necessities because they are so busy.  Mark is back now and I think he will take the next couple of weeks off and spend it with us at home.
Hanging out with my big brother (before my haircut!).
We are also finally getting some drywall up in the house.  The ceilings have all been fixed to code and the hallway has been fixed to the front door.  The kitchen door has been replaced and the laundry door is not far behind.  Unfortunately when I went to pick up the doors the hole for the glass in the laundry door hadn't been cut .  They picked it up from our place and we should have that one back shortly.  The library also has two walls of drywall up and now that Mark is home, hopefully the rest will go up this week.  There seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel!  Unfortunately, with some of the issues that we uncovered with the ceilings in the living room and library, it looks like we will be taking the ceiling down in the guest room after all and fixing that.  At least it we know what we are doing now and it will hopefully go faster - haha!

Digging in the snow!

Building a snowman on the snow day.

Christmas parade with Daisy the cow.

Making Christmas cards.

The Christmas season is in full swing and Kian and Julean are excited to get a tree up in the house.  Without any walls up we don't have a place to put one so hopefully that will happen before the 24th!  Julean saw Santa in a mall a few days ago and got to sit on his knee.  Now all he says is "Hi Santa!"  Kian keeps telling me that Santa is watching him when he is thinking about possibly doing something bad.  I'm not going to discourage that at the moment!
