Adventures of Nacho and Spud: Just Trying to Keep Up!

It has been a few weeks since the last post and so I thought I would try to post SOMETHING while the boys are having a nap.

After our week on Hornby Island we had a camping trip to Seattle for the August long weekend with Auntie Renee and Uncle Darcy and, of course, Mia. I was a bit concerned about camping with Mia because Kian is so scared of her, but all went well and now he even tells us that Mia is a nice dog. She was always nice, she is just a bit - ok, a lot - hyper! She loves to play with the kids because they are the right size for her.

The camping trip went off without too many problems. The boys love camping! Kian did really well on the trip with his potty training except that he is scared to actually use the potty anywhere but at home. Actually, his preference is to pee in the backyard and the potty chair must also be set up in the yard for pooping. That creates a bit of a problem on things like ferries and malls and in the middle of downtown Seattle. I eventually had to put a diaper on him just so he could pee after holding it for 9 hours!

The campground at Scenic Beach is beautiful but was a little farther away from somethings that we wanted to do, like the zoo. That's alright. We can plan another trip and maybe stay a little closer to downtown next time.
